Metrolinx Does Not Have Final Costing in Mind for Downtown Relief Line

The Metrolinx organization which manages transit options in the GTA area (Greater Toronto Area) has requested bid for study on the fesiblity of a downtown relief line into the core. No cost given for what the study will cost or the final project for that matter. The document which is posted for the benefit of consultants with project management and rail operations and planning experience submit their bids to the organization.

The relief line into the downtown core has been marked as a priority for the Metrolinx Organization and one way in which the existing and overloaded Yonge Line can be expanded with service North to Richmond Hill all the way from the downtown core of Toronto.  Metrolinx is also studying a 1 percent tax hike on the HST which currently sits at 15%.
