Well, spending 3 billion dollars for a 3 stop Scarborough Subway line to nowhere appears to be a huge waste of money. I thought council was about ending the gravy train? why waste our money like this. To be honest, I am of the opinion that Scarborough shouldn't get any rapid transit money at all.I can't explain how 1 billion dollars per subway stop makes any sense whatsoever. It's just crazy especially because we need a downtown relief line like right now. The Yonge Subway Line is crowded beyond capacity and is packed late into the night on almost any night you will find it a challenge to get a seat, and most likely end up standing and packed in tighter than sardines at the Kensington Market Fish Stand.
We could end up spending 3 billion dollars on a new 3 stop subway to Scarborough and then once they get to Bloor there is no way they are getting downtown. The cost of the LRT is 1.8 billion all paid by the province, but the Scarborough people want to act all crazy and think they deserve a subway, before you know , Mississauga which is far bigger gets its first LRT line. There is a need for LRT in Mississauga
